Description
A sculpture commemorating a wounded solider being helped to safety by a comrade. It is a tribute to the "Bedford Boys", most of whom perished in the D-Day invasion on June 6, 1944. They came from the same infantry unit from Bedford, Virginia. The sculpture and Memorial grounds are located in the D-Day Memorial in Bedford, which was championed by Bob Slaughter, one of the Bedford Boys who survived.
